I am now on my fourth attempt at rationalising the tables on Liber 777, and this time I think I have cracked it. Mind you, I thought I had cracked it previously, but as the months go by, and I look at the pages, I realise there are still serious problems. This time the penny dropped – I had included the Goetic powers in the Major Arcana when they should be in the relevant Minor Arcana pages. Blindingly obvious when you think about it.
The Golden Dawn converted the Goetic names into Hebrew for gematria purposes, but scholarly research has demonstrated that the sources were in Greek, and the names were already in ‘gobbledegook’ to start with, so I am changing the names to the familiar anglicised versions. The spirits know who they are, but it is better to be consistent.
When this latest reassessment started, it was with the simple intention of including an image of the Thoth card to illustrate better the Colour Scales, and I will attempt to vaguely demonstrate the colours, but this of course runs into technical problems as every computer monitor setup is slightly different.
So readers do not have to scroll down the entire length of the page, I am including tabbed browsing, which creates problems of its own – which tables go with with tab? Some are easier than others, and of course I am coming across anomalies that need fixing.
