Geburah – Strength
Geburah or Strength, judgment, is the fifth sephirah on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life corresponding to the Fives and the planet Mars.
Trouble, worry, loss, possible onset of disease. (Recourse to or ability to act as a Healer).
Mourning, sadness, affliction.
Pain, especially physical; an aching questioning of one’s actions leading to despair. War. Strife, internal or external. Actions against life and death must lead to regret. (Constructive use of a potentially destructive force. The ability to still question things and ideas to which one has given much.)
Imitation, as, for example, sham fight, but also the strenuous competition and struggle of the search after riches and fortune. In this sense it connects with the battle of life.
Degradation, destruction, revocation, infamy, dishonour, loss, with the variants and analogues of these.
The card foretells material trouble above all, whether in the form illustrated — that is, destitution — or otherwise.
Generally favourable; a happy marriage; also patrimony, legacies, gifts, success in enterprise.
